Hire A Garage Floor Installer?
If you're going to hire someone to install your garage floor covering, then I would suggest considering going with epoxy. It's longer lasting and, to someone in good health, really doesn't take any longer to install than garage floor tiles do. If you plan to do it yourself, you only need a utility knife, though it's also handy to have a straight edge of some sort to make sure you keep things in line.

Preparing The Cement Garage Floor
Tiles do require a cleaner surface than almost any other garage floor coating. As they have sticky backs, they'll stick to whatever they first contact; even if that first thing is dust, gravel, dirt, or oil. Therefore, it's very important to be sure that the garage floor is very, very clean and that any holes or cracks are filled in and sanded down to provide as even a surface as possible
Consider Sticky Garage Floor Tiles
Especially considering how effective it is, sticky-backed garage floor tiles have got to be one of the best types of garage floor coverings that you can install on your own. Not only will it eventually cover the entire garage, but unlike epoxy garage floor paint, you can start when you like, and finish four years later if that's what life deals you. Although ultimately time consuming, garage floor tile can be started and stopped whenever you like since it's individual tiles that you're laying down. No worries about drying time or anything like that – just put five or six down before the game or TV show and eventually you'll have the entire garage flooring in place.
What To Consider When Choosing Garage Flooring
There are numerous styles, tile types, and manufacturers out there, so you do have some decision making to do. Will you go with a myriad of colors, or just one? Do you want standard square tiles, or something a bit more eccentric? Does it matter to you if your garage flooring grips your shoes and channels water and debris out of the garage, or does it just need to look nice?
Why Install A Garage Floor?
Installing garage floor tiles is a very easy way to upgrade your concrete garage floor and improve the look of the garage overall. Although some people may just see the floor of their garage as nothing but something to park the car on, if you actually work in your garage, you know better. Your garage floors are the first thing to get cleaned when you're done working and the first thing to look dirty when they're not taken care of. Well, maybe with the exception of the car, that is. When the garage floor looks nice, the whole garage looks good. If the garage floor looks stained, the entire garage looks rather ugly. It's pretty annoying to have just finished a big job successfully, only to turn around and see that you now need to spend an hour scrubbing the stains out of the garage floor cement.
